A healthy child can concentrate
better and can learn better.
In the medical check mission
of MCC it was noted that many children in the Chitwan region
suffer from aneamia and undernourishment. These ilnesses can
be easily cucred by eating fresh fruits and vegatables daily.
In the Sapana School garden we are going to plant fruit trees
that will give fruit all year round. Vegetables and herbs will
be planted as well. These fresh and ecologic grown crops will
be used for the lunches for the children and the workers in the
school.
Other goals of the school garden
are learning to take care of your environment; learning about
biology, plant growth and gardening.
Under supervision of the gardner,
the home group teacher and the teacher biology the children themselves
will maintain the garden. In this way they together will take
care of good nutricion, knowledge of horticulture and possibly
they can serve as a good example for other schools in the region.
What do we need?
Trees, plants, gardening equipment,
a shed for the equipment, a warehouse for the small plant, water
nearby.
Costs: 3.000,- = $ 4.110 (USdollars)
